Brush Truck Destroyed, Firefighters Injured in Texas Brush Fire

ARANSAS PASS, Texas – KIITV reports that firefighters have been recalled to a brush fire that earlier destroyed a brush truck and injured three firefighters on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called back to the scene of the brush fire in Aransas County after a flareup.

Among the departments that responded were firefighters with the Texas A&M Forest Service.

Fire crews from Tennessee and North Carolina, already stationed in the area, assisted as well.

On Tuesday firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire on Johnson Road and then they were called to another fire on Jocelyn Road.

The two fires merged.

The fire destroyed one brush truck. The crew inside was able to escape. One firefighter was taken to the hospital and two others were treated on the scene.

Residents had to evacuate their homes. An RV and small structure were destroyed.
