Firefighter Burned Fighting Oklahoma Wildfire

Forestry Services firefighter suffered severe burns

 

 

PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, Oklahoma – A firefighter was burned Thursday while fighting a wildfire in Pushmataha County according to KFOR News 4.

The Oklahoma Forestry Services firefighter suffered severe burns when the vehicle he was using while building fire lines stopped working and his escape route become compromised

Officials tell KFOR that the firefighter abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, sustaining severe burns in the escape.

He is being treated for second- and third-degree burns at a trauma center.
