Crews Battle Wildfire Near Provo, Utah

Additional crews are being brought in

 

 

SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) — Crews are battling a wildfire that started near a residential area but is burning grass and uphill away from homes east and north of Springville while growing on the southern outskirts of Provo.

Utah fire officials say an incident management team is assuming command of the fire that started Tuesday night.

So far there are no reports of structures being threatened but officials say the has grown to six-tenths of a square mile (1.5 square kilometers) as of Wednesday morning.

Additional crews are being brought in to fight the fire. Its cause is under investigation.
