Woman, Toddler, Infant Found Dead in California Wildfire

Panoche Fire is 85 percent contained

 

 

PANOCHE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say three people — including two small children — have been found dead at the site of a California wildfire.

The bodies of a woman, a toddler and an infant were found Monday night in a burned camping trailer in a rural, unincorporated area of San Benito County. The area is east of Monterey and more than 100 miles southeast of San Francisco.

There’s no immediate word on the identity of the victims or how they died.

The 64-acre wildfire near Panoche is 85 percent contained Tuesday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
