Texas A&M Places Firefighting Planes in Abilene

SEATS are often staged in multiple places

 

 

ABILENE, Texas (KRBC) – When it comes to wildfires, the Texas A&M Forest Service takes their firefighting to the skies.

Single Engine Air Tankers, or SEATS, are often staged in multiple places across Texas, including Abilene, Amarillo and Mineral Wells.

Since 1996 air tankers have been brought in and based at the Abilene Regional Airport in order to combat wildfires both near and far.
