A California State Representative, Doug LaMalfa, called out the food vendors providing meals to firefighters in Siskiyou County on Twitter,
The representative posted photos of a moldy cheese sandwich and beans and rice on bread that he says was being served in the Klamath National Forest to firefighters battling wildfires in the area.
He called the food a slap in the face to the hard-working crews.
KDRV reports a new food vendor has been hired to replace the company that was providing the meals.
This is the lunch the Forest Service’s new national food vendor is serving our firefighters trying to put out fires in Siskiyou County: Moldy cheese and beans and rice on bread. This is absolutely unacceptable. pic.twitter.com/bk6Xe4DaTN
