Freedom Hill department loses rig in brush fire

CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma – News9 reports that a Creek County volunteer fire department lost their brush truck to flames during a grass fire on Monday.

The Freedom Hill Volunteer Fire Department had two firefighters in the brush truck when they drove got stuck and ran out of water.

News9 reported that the fire department doesn’t have extra equipment or the capacity to immediately replace what they lost. They only carried liability insurance on burned brush truck.

There were no injuries to firefighters.

The fire burned hundreds of acres and damaged a church and travel trailer.
