Young California Girl Raises Money for Fallen Firefighters

Five-year old Faye began after hearing about the death of a firefighter

NIPOMO, California (KSBY) – A Nipomo girl has launched a fundraiser to benefit the children of firefighters who have died on the front lines of wildfires.

Kylee Segraves and her daughter, five-year-old Faye, have been at home while husband and dad Johnny Segraves has been fighting the Thomas Fire.

“He’s been gone pretty much all fire season with the crews,” Kylee said.

When Faye heard of the recent death of a firefighter on that same fire, she asked if there was any way she could help raise money to buy presents for his children and others who have lost their parents.
