IAFC: Wildland Fire Policy Committee Seeks Feedback

Deadline is November 10

International Association of Fire Chiefs

The IAFC’s Wildland Fire Policy Committee is conducting this survey to provide feedback that will help fire departments and Incident Management Teams (IMT) improve wildland response and decrease communicable disease transmission in fire camps.

This information will be used to improve not only COVID-19 protocols which also impact other communicable disease spread but also give us an opportunity to look at our operations and improve responder safety and suppression efforts. Specifically, we are looking for strategies that worked, and those that did not, since the pandemic started in March 2020. We want to understand the financial impacts as well as those that impacted suppression efforts.

Preliminary feedback will be used in the virtual WUI November 4-5, 2020. A more comprehensive presentation, in concert with state and federal partners, will be presented at WUI 2021 in Reno.

The deadline is November 10.
